What was a pivotal moment in your career that shaped the professional you are today?

My involvement in both lumbar and cervical arthroplasty early clinical trials was a unique opportunity to explore and strengthen my clinical competency and critical thinking.

How has your involvement with NASS influenced your professional growth or career journey?

My membership in NASS has been instrumental in my professional development. As a clinical research scientist, the rigorous review process and feedback that I have obtained regarding my clinical trials and presentations has been invaluable. Additionally, the exposure to other clinical and basic science subspecialty topics has reinforced and expanded my intellectual inquiry.

What originally drew you to the field of spine care?

My mentors Dr. Henry Bohlman, John O’Brien and John Webb provided the basis for much or my interest in spine care especially anterior spinal approaches and the treatment of spinal disorders using these approaches.
