My journey with NASS has led to the greatest personal development of my adult career in pushing me to recognize the need for a global understanding of important issues and acquiring leadership skills to accomplish the tasks needed for the group. The leadership development that occurred during my time in NASS leadership has greatly impacted my career.

I learned to think globally and really try to understand the entire situation, and seeing the situation from each of the stakeholders involved. This allowed me to apply this to all situations in my life. This has allowed me to understand the motivations of all involved, and gave me more understanding of the viewpoints of other. This is something that I use daily for my life activities.

I would tell my younger self not to worry so much. I was so motivated and worried about achieving my goals, and looking back, I realize that everything just happens, and there is no need to stress too much. There is an appropriate amount of small stress to motivate yourself, but beyond that small amount, any extra stress is not productive.
